So why does a gamer need a website?

I guess I wouldn’t really say that I NEED a website so much as I wanted to make one. It’s an artistic expression of some of the things I’ve wanted to share about gaming. I’ve been interested in writing about gaming for many years. My unique background as a professional historian (and teacher) puts me in a position to offer insights into games and the gaming world. I plan to use this site as an outlet for that.

  1. I want to help other gamers learn how to do some of the things I love to do in games. This might mean learning a more efficient way to build something in Banished or a nice build on a race car in Forza. It might be the latest Farm Sim mod that made my farm a better place. It’s a wide ranging vision to help gamers.
  2. I want to share what I enjoy in gaming and have fun writing about it. While I do create videos on YouTube and live stream on Twitch, it can be especially formative for me to put things “in writing.” This website gives me that outlet.
  3. I want to give back to the gaming community in some small way. This will hopefully involve highlighting the work of modders, giving a “space” for other writer-gamers to feature their ideas, and highlighting particularly good/interesting fellow creators. If you want to nominate a streamer to be featured, contact me at bluebellygaming@gmail.com.
